Khulna: On both sides of the Khulna-Jesore highway, the structures including the illegally built shops have been evicted.
The eviction operation was conducted on Monday (April 22) in Easterngate area of Khulna city.
The evacuation operation was conducted under the leadership of Additional Deputy Commissioner (LA) of Khulna District Administration Atiqul Islam.
Present at this time – Khulna road and township department executive engineer Md. Anisuzzaman Masud, Executive Magistrate Rubaid Ahmed and Maheshwar Mandal, Additional Executive Magistrate Atiqur Rahman, Fultala Upazila Executive Officer Tasnim Jahan, Fultala Upazila AC Land Papia Sultana, Daulatpur Zone Assistant Police Commissioner Abul Bashar, Khanjahan Ali Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Hafizur Rahman, Prosenjit Pal, Assistant Executive Engineer, Roads and Townships. A unit of Khanjahan Ali Fire Service assisted in the evacuation operation.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Atiqul Islam told Banglanews that the Eastern Gate of Khanjahan Ali Police Station was illegally occupied on its own land on both sides of the Khulna-Jesore highway. Several times they were asked to vacate but operations were conducted against these illegal occupiers.
