Chittagong: The Chittagong Union of Journalists (CUJ) strongly condemned the terrorist attack on two journalists in Chittagong while performing their professional duties. The leaders of the organization in a statement demanded that the terrorists involved in the attack be arrested and brought to justice quickly.

On Monday (April 22) CUG President Tapan Chakraborty and General Secretary Mr. Shamsul Islam said in a statement that on Sunday (April 21st) around 10:30 PM, a terrorist named Saddam Hussain and his associates were attacked by a terrorist named Saddam Hussain and a staff cameraperson of Channel 24, Salim Ullah, while trying to record a video of the clash between two terrorist groups in Mansurabad area of ​​the city. At this time, the terrorists tried to kill him.

On the other hand, terrorists led by one Iqbal attacked Rimon Sakhawat, another member of CIU and staff reporter of Chittagong Daily, when he went to video the illegal business of Wasar water in West Nimtala area under Bandar Thana of the city on Monday around 3 pm. At that time, the terrorists tried to strangle him.

Journalist leaders expressed concern and said that in both cases, the issue of insecurity in the performance of professional duties of journalists has emerged. Which is a big threat to journalism profession and working journalists. The leaders immediately demanded the administration to arrest the identified persons involved in the attack on the two journalists.
