Bandarban: The court has sent three women members of Kuki-Chin National Front (KNF) to jail in the case of robbery of Sonali Bank, attack on mosque, looting of weapons of police and Ansar in Ruma upazila of Bandarban.

On Monday (April 22), at 2:10 pm, they were sent to jail following the order of Bandarban Chief Judicial Magistrate Court Judge Mohammad Nurul Haque.

The accused are Lal Noon Pui Bom (18), Lal Ruat Phel Bom (20) and Lal Eng Kol Bom (26), residents of Girja Para, Eden Road, Ruma Upazila, Bandarban.

According to the police, in the afternoon of Sunday April 21, members of joint forces conducted an operation in Ruma Sadar of Bandarban and arrested these 3 women members of KNF as suspected accused in the case of Ruma Sonali bank robbery, mosque attack, police and Ansar weapons looting.

Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Priyel Palit confirmed the truth of the matter in the Bandarban court and said that the court ordered to send the three women members to jail if they were brought to the court.

On April 2, 5 cases were filed at Ruma Police Station in connection with robbery of Sonali Bank in Ruma, Bandarban, abduction of manager, attack on mosque, theft of police weapons. In the afternoon of April 3, there was a robbery at Sonali Bank and Krishi Bank in Thanchi Upazila of Bandarban and after 4 cases were registered in this incident, the police started the operation. So far 71 accused have been arrested in 9 cases. The accused have been sent to jail on the orders of the court.
