Bangladesh Technical Education Board Chairman Md. Ali Akbar Khan has been relieved of duty. Earlier, his wife was arrested for her involvement in the Sanad trading ring.

On Monday (April 22), a notification in this regard has been issued by the Technical and Madrasa Education Department of the Ministry of Education.

It is said in the notification, Chairman of Bangladesh Technical Education Board. Ali Akbar Khan was removed from the chairmanship and attached to the technical department. Board of Technical Education exempted and relieved from the post to join the new post attached to the Department of Technical Education.

In another notification, Bangladesh Technical Education Board Director (ICT) Professor Md. Mamun ul Haque was given the additional charge of Chairman, Board of Technical Education.

Earlier on April 21, Sehela Parveen, wife of Technical Education Board Chairman Ali Akbar Khan, was arrested by the police for her involvement in the fake certificate ring. Allegations have arisen that some officials of the technical education board including the chairman are involved with fake certificates.

Additional Commissioner of Police said that Ali Akbar Khan will be interrogated to find out information about the fake certificate of the board. Haroon or Rashid.

Incidentally, Ali Akbar Khan, who is in charge of Rangpur Polytechnic Institute, took over as the Chairman of the Technical Education Board on October 18, 2021.
