Dhaka: Mobile financial services company Nagad Ltd. has gifted Tk 20 lakh to the players and officials of Fortune Barisal, as promised as the champions of the recently concluded Bangladesh Premier League.
Recently, this check was handed over to a five-star hotel in the capital.
The founder and chief executive officer of the organization, Tanveer A. Mishuk, handed over the check on behalf of the cash. And Fortune Barisal’s owner Mizanur Rahman and captain Tamim Iqbal accepted the check. The family members of Mizanur Rahman, owner of Fortune Barisal, were also present at this time.
Besides, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mehdi Hasan Miraj, Soumya Sarkar, Taijul Islam, Kamrul Islam Rabbi, Saifuddin, Shamim and other Barisal team players and other team officials were present in the event.
Although Naqd has no direct association with Barisal Fortune, Tamim Iqbal, the captain of this team, has been the brand ambassador of Naqd for several years. Tamim became the highest run scorer of the tournament.

Barisal rejoiced after becoming the champion. From there, team captain Tamim Iqbal added Tanveer to Mishuk in a video call. Tanveer also congratulated Tamim and his team and announced a prize money of Tk 20 lakh. As soon as the announcement was made, there was a wave of excitement among the champion team.
This promised money was handed over to Barisal players and officials in a ceremony before Eid. At the time of handing over the money, Barisal’s captain and country’s best batsman Tamim Iqbal said, Tanveer’s brother is a very cricket-loving person. He has been with our Barisal team since the beginning and has always been in touch. Not only because we played here, he stayed with Barisal because of his love for cricket. We are very happy to get this gift from him along with being champion. It will motivate everyone in the team.
Mizanur Rahman, the owner of Fortune Barisal said, “Even though we reached the final many times, we could not win the title before.” As a result, this joy is really special. I thank Nagad and Tanveer A Mishuk bhai for adding extra dimension to our happiness.
After handing over the cheque, Tanveer A. Mishuk said, “As a sponsor of BPL, we have been united with the entire tournament. Among them, Barisal team has always seemed to be my own team. Some of my favorite players and cashiers have played in this team. As a result we considered it as our team.
It may be mentioned that the cleaners of the Bangladesh Cricket Board were given Iftar and dinner at a five-star hotel under the initiative of Tamim Iqbal and Tanveer A Mishuk. Along with this, founder of Nagad Limited, Tanveer A Mishuk, gave an Eid gift of Tk 50,000 to these workers.
