Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) will question Ali Akbar Khan, the newly appointed OSD chairman of Bangladesh Technical Education Board tomorrow, Tuesday. DB said that he will be arrested after getting information.
Additional Commissioner of DMP and Head of DB Mohammad Haroon Or Rashid gave this information at a press conference organized at Minto Road DMP Media Center in the capital on Monday.
He said that Ali Akbar Khan, chairman of Bangladesh Technical Education Board, was made OSD yesterday. He has been called to the DB office tomorrow Tuesday, he will be interrogated. He will be arrested if found involved in the certificate fraud. Besides, all those whose names have been mentioned in this incident will be called and interrogated.
AKM Shamsuzzaman, system analyst engineer of Technical Education Board, was arrested on the charge of forgery of Technical Education Board’s certificate last April 1. In questioning him, the names of many small and big officials related to the board and the heads and principals of some of the country’s technical schools and cojels came up one by one. Shehela Parveen, the wife of the board chairman, was arrested last Saturday after questioning Shamsuzzaman. The day after his arrest, the Ministry of Education issued an OSD notice to the chairman on Sunday.
DB sources say that the name of Shehela Parveen came up during the interrogation of Shamsuzzaman.
Earlier, in a press conference on April 4, DC Moshiur Rahman Shamsuzzaman of Lalbagh Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police said, referring to the interrogation, that the head teachers and principals of technical schools and colleges established all over the country used to bring customers to him in various processes of trade. The long list of names of the headmasters and principals who used to bring customers through mediation came in the hands of the detective police. Besides, all the officials of the board knew about the charter trade.
