Industry Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said that Bangladesh and Qatar will work together for the development of the country’s industrial sector.
He said that due to the business-friendly environment and policies of the current government, Qatar has shown interest in investing in various sectors including LNG and fertilizer in Bangladesh. Other sectors of industry are also open to them. In the upcoming visit of the Emir of Qatar, an agreement regarding mutual investment development and protection of the two countries is going to be signed.
The Minister said these things while giving an interview to Qatar TV on the occasion of the upcoming visit of Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin-Hamad Al Thani to Bangladesh at the ministry’s office in Motijheel in the capital on Sunday (April 21).
The Industries Minister said that after independence, diplomatic relations were established between the two countries in 1974 with the sincere efforts of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Since then cordial and friendly relations exist between the two countries.
He said, it has been accelerated by the Prime Minister’s two visits to Qatar in March and May of last year (2023). We are hopeful that it will reach a new height with the upcoming visit of the Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin-Hamad Al Thani to Bangladesh.
