Sirajganj: The roof of a passenger bus flew off after losing control and hitting a tree in Shahjadpur of Sirajganj. A passenger named Al Shamim (24) died in this incident.
Seven other passengers of the bus were injured.
The accident took place on Monday (April 22) morning in Tetiarkandi area of Shahjadpur upazila on Bogra-Nagarbari highway. The deceased Al Shamim is the son of Rashedul Islam Abu of Madhupur village of Sujanagar upazila of Pabna district. The identity of the injured is not known.
Police Inspector of Hatikumrul Highway Police Station. Monirul Islam said that the passenger bus of C-Line Paribahan was going to Dhaka from Pabna. On the way, the bus rammed into a roadside tree when the driver lost control in Tetyarkandi area. The roof of the bus blew off. Eight passengers of the bus were injured in the incident. On receiving the information, the police went to the spot and rescued the injured and took them to Shahjadpur Upazila Health Complex. Al Shamim died while undergoing treatment there. Other injured have been sent to different hospitals. The condition of three of them is critical.
