The roof of a passenger bus lost control and collided with a tree in Sirajganj’s Shahjadpur. One passenger was killed in the incident. At least seven people were injured.
The accident took place at Tetiyarkandi area of Bogra-Nagarbari highway in Shahjadpur at around 6:30 am on Monday.
Hatikumrul Highway Police Inspector Monirul Islam confirmed this information to the media.

The deceased passenger Al Shamim is the son of Rashedul Islam Abu of Madhupur village of Sujanagar upazila in Pabna. Three of the injured are in critical condition.
Police officer Monirul Islam said that the speeding bus on the C line from Pabna to Dhaka lost control and hit a tree on the side of the road when it reached Tetiarkandi area of Shahjadpur upazila on the Bogra Nagarbari highway. The roof of the bus blew off.
On receiving the information, Hatikumrul Highway Police reached the spot with the help of locals and rescued eight injured persons and sent them to Shahjadpur Upazila Health Complex. Al Shamim died while undergoing treatment there.
The police officer also said that the driver and assistant of the bus involved in the accident are absconding. He said that the legal system is in process in this incident.
