Two people were killed in a head-on collision between a sand-laden dump truck and a CNG-powered auto-rickshaw in Chittagong’s Boalkhali.

The accident happened on Monday (April 22) around 5:30 am in Raikhali Pool area of ​​Boalkhali on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Arakan road. Nihra is autorickshaw driver Delwar Hossain (30) and passenger Mizanur Rahman (32).

Delwar Hossain is the son of Maqbul Hossain of Kachua Berkotha village of Chandpur district. Lived in a rented house in Lalkhan Bazar area of ​​Chittagong city. The deceased Mizanur Rahman was a fish trader. He is the son of Abdus Sattar of Lalkhan Bazar area of ​​the city.

Eyewitnesses said that businessman Mizanur Rahman went to buy fish by autorickshaw from Lalkhan Bazar area of ​​the city. Around 5:30 am, an auto-rickshaw collided head-on with a sand-carrying truck on the Arakan road. The driver Delwar Hossain died on the spot. On receiving the information, a team of Boalkhali Fire Station reached the spot and rescued the seriously injured fish trader Mizanur Rahman and took him to Boalkhali Upazila Health Complex. Later the doctor on duty declared him dead.

Boalkhali police station SI Noor Mohammad confirmed the matter. He also said that two cars involved in the accident have been impounded.
