Chittagong: Acting Mayor Mohammad Ghiyas Uddin was present and directed the illegal construction of roads, sidewalks and drains on both sides of the road from the GEC of the city to Pravartak Mor.
Chasik regional officer and executive magistrate Shahreen Ferdausi conducted the operation on Sunday (April 21).
At this time, the Acting Mayor broadcast the campaign live on social media. Around 50 illegally constructed structures and shops occupying roads, footpaths and drains were evacuated in the operation.
At that time, a fine of 52,000 taka was collected against various people for illegal parking and construction of structures. Chittagong Metropolitan Police assisted in this operation.
Mayor Rezaul Karim Chowdhury left Chittagong for Dhaka in an internal flight on Sunday (April 21) afternoon to attend a seminar on management of various industries in Bangladesh. The Mayor will leave for Tokyo International Airport in Japan at 12:30 PM from Dhaka. The mayor is scheduled to return home on May 2 after his visit to Japan.
City Mayor Md. Panel Mayor Mohammad Ghiyas Uddin will serve as Acting Mayor during Rezaul Karim Chowdhury’s stay in Japan.
