The local meteorological office has given good news for Chittagong amid the ongoing heat wave. Patenga Meteorological Office said that there may be rain or thunder in a couple of places with temporary gusts or gusty winds in neighboring areas including Chittagong on Monday.

According to the forecast of the Meteorological Office, there may be rain or thunder in a couple of places with temporary gusts or gusty winds in Chittagong and neighboring areas till 6 pm on Monday. If it rains, the temperature will drop and Chittagong residents will get some relief from the intense heat.
Along with that, there may be scattered hailstorms at some places. During this time, night and day losses may decrease slightly. An excess of water vapor may increase discomfort. Besides, winds of 8-12 kmph may blow from south or south-west direction, which may increase to 25 kmph in gusty form.
According to Patenga Meteorological Office sources, the maximum temperature in the city yesterday was 33.5 degrees Celsius, which is 1.70 degrees Celsius higher than normal. It was 33.8 degrees Celsius the previous day on Saturday. The minimum temperature in the city yesterday was 28 degrees Celsius, which is 4.6 degrees Celsius above normal. Besides, the maximum temperature in Sitakunda Upazila was 34 degrees Celsius yesterday.

However, despite the decrease in temperature, the feeling of heat and discomfort did not decrease due to the high humidity in the air. If it rains, the humidity and temperature will decrease.
