The Chairman of the Technical Education Board was arrested for involvement in the certificate trading cycle. Ali Akbar Khan’s wife Sehela Parveen. The board chairman is also on the list of suspected involvement in the circle. In such a situation, the process of making the Chairman an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) is underway.
The order is likely to be issued on Monday (April 22). Education Minister Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Naufel told the media on Sunday (April 21) night.
The minister said that Technical Education Board Chairman Ali Akbar Khan will be transferred to the directorate as OSD. In his place, another officer of the technical board, Professor Md. Mamun ul Haque will be given the charge of chairman.
On April 1, engineer AKM Shamsuzzaman, system analyst of Technical Education Board, was arrested on charges of trading certificates. In questioning him, the name of Board Chairman Ali Akbar Khan’s wife Sehela Parveen came up.
Then on Saturday (April 20) Sehela Parveen was arrested by Dhaka Metropolitan Detective (DB) Police. On Sunday (April 21) afternoon, the investigating officer of the case brought him to court and applied for a five-day remand.
The court granted the request to remand him for two days.
