Dhaka, Jatrabari and Demra: RAB-2 arrested BNP Chairperson’s advisor Ataur Rahman Dhali on Tuesday afternoon from Basila in the capital. Senior ASP ANM Imran Khan, assistant director of RAB’s legal and media wing, confirmed the matter to Yugantar.
He said, Ataur Rahman is the mastermind of arson, vandalism and sabotage of vehicles in Mohammadpur. He has been arrested in the case of sabotage. Meanwhile, RAB has arrested four people in the case of setting fire to a Basumati transport bus in Mirpur’s Kalshi on Saturday night. They are – Al Mohammad Chan, Md. Sagar, Md. Al Amin Rubel and Md. Khorshed Alam.
Sherpur (Bogra): On Monday night miscreants stopped two trucks and set them on fire in the 10 mile area of Sherpur on the Dhaka-Bogra highway. Later a team of Sherpur Fire Service brought the fire under control. Truck driver Afzal Hossain said, when I reached ten miles, four or five people stopped the truck and asked us to get down. They then set fire to the truck with petrol.
Rajshahi: A truck parked on the side of the road was burnt by the miscreants. The incident took place in front of the Liberation War Memorial Stadium Market of Boalia police station in the city on Tuesday around 4 am. A team led by Senior Station Officer Abu Sama of Fire Service and Civil Defense Rajshahi Headquarters brought the fire under control.
Khagrachari: Seven buses were attacked by miscreants in Guimaras on their way from Khagrachari to Dhaka. A bus passenger was injured in the attack. The incident took place at Bailyachari in Guimara upazila at 11:30 pm on Monday. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Guimara Police Station Rajeev Chandra Kar said that no one was arrested during the vandalism. The supervisor of Robi Express bus vandalized. Rafi Ahmed said, ‘A police car was escorting us from zero mile of Khagrachari. On the way, several passenger cars are separated from the police car in the Matiranga Bailyachari area. Suddenly the miscreants on the right side of the road attacked the cars. However, Superintendent of Police Mukta Dhar claimed that three cars were damaged by stones thrown by miscreants.
Noakhali, Begumganj and Senbagh: Followers of Jubo Dal leader Titu protested on Monday in support of the hartal at Chandraganj East Bazar in Begumganj. At that time, when the police intervened, 20 people including five policemen were injured in the clash. Police recovered five cocktails, 10 sticks and arrested 19 people from the spot. This information was revealed by the district police source on Tuesday. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Begumganj Police Station, Md. Anwarul Islam said, the arrested were handed over to the Noakhali Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Tuesday, and the court sent them to jail. Sheikh Mostafizur Rahman, President of Kabilpur Union of Senbagh, was arrested by the police while buying medicine for his mother. He was arrested by Senbag Police Station from Mahbub Medical Hall in Chhmir Munsirhat Bazar of Kabilpur Union of Upazila on Tuesday afternoon.
Rangpur: BNP Central Joint Secretary General Habib Un Nabi Khan Sohail and member secretary of Rangpur District-Metropolitan Committee along with five leaders have called a morning-evening hartal today in Rangpur metropolitan area. On the same day, district BNPO separately called morning-evening hartal in Rangpur district. Acting Convener of Rangpur Metropolitan BNP and former GS of Kaksu Shahidul Islam Mizu called the hartal in a video message on Tuesday afternoon.
Feni: Jamaat’s Feni District Amir and Central Majlis Shura member AKM Samsuddin was arrested by the police. He was arrested on Tuesday morning from the city’s Pathanbari road.
Jessore Benapole: RAB recovered 30 cocktails and an air gun in separate operations in Jessore city and Benapole. The operation was carried out on Monday night.
