Punishment with fine to 10 students of Khubi

10 students of Khulna University have been punished with fines for various charges including verbally abusing classmates without reason, consuming drugs, abusing children by keeping them in the field till late night and threatening to separate them from the batch. Three of the accused were fined and expelled from the university for two terms. This disciplinary decision was taken in the disciplinary committee meeting of the university on November 15. However, this information was revealed on Tuesday afternoon.
The students who were punished are Saif Newaz, Suman Rahman, Sanjida Afrin Mayuri, Noor Alam, Bani Amin, students of pharmacy discipline, Muhammad Zarif, Hizbullah Tamim of business administration discipline and Kabirul Islam Bindu, Sandeep Pal and Mojtaba Fahim, students of Urban and Rural Planning (NGRAP). Among them Saif Nawaz 20 thousand taka, Sumon Rahman 5 thousand taka, Sanjida Afrin Mayuri 15 thousand taka, Noor Alam 15 thousand taka, Bani Amin 5 thousand taka and Muhammad Zarif two years from the university for the next two terms i.e. the first and second term of the third year. Expulsion and a fine of Tk 10,000 and Md. Kabirul Islam Bindu was expelled from the university for two years and fined Tk 10,000 for the next two terms i.e. the first and second term of the fourth year, Sandeep Pal for the next two terms i.e. the first of the fourth year. And for the second term, expulsion from the university for two years and a fine of 10,000 taka and Mojtaba Fahim has been expelled from the university for two years and a fine of 10,000 taka for the next two terms i.e. the first and second term of the fourth year and Hezbollah Tamim has been warned.
Apart from this, everyone has been ordered to appear with their parents along with their national identity cards within the next one month to promise that they will not engage in any activities against the conduct of students of this university in the future.
In this regard, Khulna University Student Affairs Director Professor Sharif Hasan Liton said that disciplinary action has been taken against the accused students for proving the truth of some allegations. However, he pointed out that the punishment can be appealed to the academic council as per the rules.
