Khulna: Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Mayor Talukder Abdul Khalek said that it is our moral responsibility to conserve water resources while calling everyone to be aware of water wastage. In this work, he urged the project stakeholders to take initiative.
The City Mayor was speaking as the chief guest at a workshop titled ‘Kimet Smart WAS Systems for Children in Khulna City Corporation’ at Hotel City Inn in the city on Tuesday (November 21). The workshop was jointly organized by Khulna City Corporation and UNICEF under the ‘Kimet Resilient Sustainable Water Supply, Sanitation and Hygiene in Bangladesh’ project.
Acting Chief Executive Officer of KCC, Sanjida Begum, spoke as a special guest at the workshop. Managing Director of Khulna Wasa, Mohammad Abdullah Peinj, and Supervising Engineer of Directorate of Public Health Engineering, Khulna, Md. Zamanur Rahman. The welcome speech was given by the head of UNICEF Khulna Division. Kauchar Hussain. Among others, Khulna University’s urban and rural planning discipline professor Md. Ahsanul Kabir, Assistant Professor of Disaster Management Discipline of Khulna University of Engineering and Technology. Riyad Hussain, Chief Conservancy Officer of KCC. Anisur Rahman, Executive Magistrate Jannatul Afroz Swarna, Health Officer Dr. Sharif Shammiul Islam, Architect Rezbina Khanam, Khulna Wasar Supervising Engineer Khan Salim Ahmed, General Manager Shahnaz Parveen, Assistant Engineer Sheikh Maruful Haque, Md. Ashiqur Rahman and Rafiqul Alam Sardar, Planning Officer of KDA. Tanveer Ahmed, Town Manager of Marginalized Community Living Quality Improvement Project Mohammad Mostafa, Caster Coordinator of SNV Erfan Ahmed Khan and others attended the workshop.
