The Jamaat, which went into hiding, gradually moved to the streets, but after the cancellation of its registration, it has again started jhtika processions. The Jamaat held a short rally before the procession in Ambarkhana area of the city. Naib Ameer of Mahanagar Jamaat Maulana Sohail Ahmad, Secretary Mohammad Shahjahan Ali, District North Secretary Jainal Abedin, former Chairman of Jaintapur Upazila Parishad, Assistant Secretary of Mahanagar Jamaat Advocate Mohammad Abdur Rab and Bangladesh Islami Chhatra Shibir Sylhet Metropolitan President Siddique Ahmed spoke in the rally.
Through successful 48-hour blockade on Wednesday and Thursday, government partisans demanded the countrymen to reject the schedule of farce announced by the Election Commission.
