A mass march took place in Rajshahi on Tuesday with five demands, including drought funding and climate justice for the drought-stricken Barendra region, from rich countries at the upcoming climate change conference. Under the initiative of development research institute Barsik and Barendra Youth Forum, the march ended from Sahebbazar in the city to Barakuthi Muktamanch. Later in the rally, five demands were raised.

They are- taking decisions on climate justice for Bangladesh, including solving the drought disaster, water crisis in the northwest region of Bangladesh in the upcoming climate conference; Accelerating climate fund concessions announced for Bangladesh; faster release of climate funds pledged by rich countries; Ensuring good governance in emergency water management in Barendra region to combat drought; Establishing a separate ‘Drought and Climate Fund’ for Barendra region and introducing ‘Drought Allowance’ and deciding to phase out fossil fuel use to limit global warming.
