The 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival will start on January 20 next year. Even though the 9-day film festival is two months away, the organizers have already created a discussion with various surprising announcements.
The festival authority announced last week that famous Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi and Chinese film teacher Shi Chuan will take masterclass in the upcoming film festival.
Now it is known that popular musician, filmmaker and actor Anjan Dutt of West Bengal will take a masterclass on January 27 at the festival.
This information was reported on the official page of Dhaka International Film Festival organized by Rainbow Film Society on Monday (November 20). Anjan Dutt’s masterclass will be conducted by Bangladeshi film critic Bidhan Riberu at Bangmata Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Auditorium, the main auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum.
Since 1992, Rainbow Film Society has been organizing this film festival regularly with the slogan ‘Aesthetic Films, Mindful Audience, Enlightened Society’. The 22nd edition of the festival in 2024 will run from 20 to 28 January 2024. The theme of this year’s festival is ‘Good Cinema, Good Audience, Good Society’. Necessary preparations for the festival are going on. Organizers expect 250 films to be screened at the festival. Where about 75 countries will participate.
The festival will compete in ‘Asian Cinema Section’, ‘Retrospective,’ ‘Tribute,’ ‘Wide Angle,’ ‘Bangladesh Panorama Section,’ ‘Cinema of the World Section,’ ‘Children’s Films Section,’ ‘Women Filmmakers Section,” Short and Independent Films Section’ and ‘Spiritual Films Section’.
