Rajshahi: The miscreants escaped by detonating cocktails in Gaurahanga Railgate area, the heart of Rajshahi metropolis. Martyr AHM Kamaruzzaman Square is next to it.
The incident took place on Tuesday (November 21) around 7:30 in the evening. After receiving the information, the police went to the spot.
Eyewitnesses said that a passenger bus bound for Chapainawabganj was parked on Gaurahanga Railgate Gorasthan road. On Tuesday around 7:30 p.m., a loud noise was suddenly heard on that road. Soon after this, the surrounding roads were covered in smoke. However, no one was injured in this incident. At that time, the people on the road were scared and started running in different directions. The busy road became empty in an instant. The police came to the spot after receiving the information.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rajshahi’s Bowalia Police Station Hossain Sohrawardy said that they rushed there with the force after receiving information about the cocktail explosion in Gaurahanga Railgate area of the city. However, the miscreants escaped after detonating the cracker. There is CCTV in the area. Attempts will be made to identify the miscreants by seeing its footage. After the incident, police patrol has been increased in the area. Besides, security has also been increased through the deployment of police.
This police officer also said that legal action is being taken in this regard.
