The police recovered the body of a man named Sitesh Chand Gop (40) from a tea garden in Sylhet.
The body was recovered from Ali Bahar’s tea plantation in Pathantula Guabari area of the city around 5 pm on Tuesday.
Sitesh Chand Gop is the son of Rakhal Chand Gop of Ghoshpara village in Habiganj Sadar.
According to the locals, the locals informed the police after seeing a dead body lying in Ali Baha tea garden at around 2 pm on Tuesday. Later, Airport police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
According to the police, a few days ago, Sitesh Chand admitted his wife to Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College Hospital. She gave birth to a child on Tuesday night. But Sitesh has been missing since Sunday. A general diary (GD) was lodged at the Jalalabad police station by his family on Monday.
Confirming the matter, Sylhet Metropolitan Police Airport Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Moin Uddin Sipan said, ‘Initially, it is believed to be a murder. The body has stab marks. We are looking into the matter. The deceased’s elder brother Gopesh Chand Gop identified the body.
