The United Nations has called on the government and political parties to do whatever is necessary for a peaceful, inclusive and credible election in Bangladesh.
Stephen Dujarric, spokesman of the UN Secretary General at the United Nations headquarters in New York, made this call in a regular briefing on Monday.

At that time he was asked what measures the UN Secretary General is going to take to ensure a free, fair and credible election in Bangladesh and what will happen if the Bangladesh government rejects the international call?
In response, Stephen Dujarric said, ‘We are calling on all stakeholders, including the government, political parties, to do everything necessary to hold a peaceful, inclusive and credible election in Bangladesh.’
