Awami League’s Parliamentary Nomination Board meeting will be held on Thursday (November 23) at Tejgaon office of Dhaka District Awami League. Awami League office secretary Biplab Barua said that the candidate for the boat in the 12th national parliament election will be finalized from that meeting.
On Tuesday (November 21), he said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, president of the nomination board, will preside over the meeting to be held at 11 o’clock on Thursday. In the meeting, the candidates for the 300 parliamentary seats will be finalized.
According to party sources, in the previous parliamentary elections, Awami League’s nomination board meetings were held at the Dhanmondi office of the party president and at Ganobhaban, the official residence of the prime minister. However, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will not hold any political activities at the Ganobhaban during the elections, so the Nomination Board meeting of Awami League will be held at Tejgaon office of Dhaka District Awami League. The nominations for Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna parliamentary seats may be finalized on the first day of the meeting.
The sale and submission of Awami League’s party nomination forms started on Saturday (November 18). The fourth and last day of this program is Tuesday (November 21). On this day, rather than buying the form, there was a huge crowd of aspirants to submit the form.
On Monday (November 20), Awami League office secretary Barrister Biplab Barua said that on the first day of selling nomination forms of Awami League, Saturday (November 18), 1,074 people, on the second day, Sunday (November 19), 1,212 people and on the third day, Monday (November 20). 733 people bought the form. As a result, 3 thousand 19 forms were sold in three days. The income of Awami League is 15 crore 9 lakh 50 thousand taka.
10 booths for eight departments were set up at the party’s office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital. Forms are sold from there. This program will continue till next Tuesday (November 21). This time the price of Awami League party nomination form is 50 thousand taka. Awami League will finalize the candidates for 300 seats after the scrutiny of the party’s nomination board after the sale of forms is over.
