Bangladesh Military Contingents (BMC) in Kuwait observed ‘Bangladesh Armed Forces Day’ with due dignity.
The event was held on Tuesday (November 21) at the BMC headquarters in the country’s Subhan cantonment, and was held on a limited scale in solidarity with the plight of the Palestinian people.
Major General Id Rashed Al Waihan Al Enezi, Director General of General Department of Criminal Evidence, Kuwait Ministry of Interior, was the chief guest at the event.
The chief guest acknowledged the contribution and sacrifice of Bangladeshi soldiers since 1991 till date. He expressed optimism that the relationship between the armed forces of the two countries will reach an optimal level in the coming days.
Brigadier General Lafi Melfi Al Mutairi, Director of the Non-Commissioned Officers Affairs Branch of the Kuwait Armed Forces, spoke as a special guest. Brigadier General Lafi congratulated all the Bangladeshi soldiers deployed in Kuwait.
Apart from this, senior officers of armed forces, defense attachés of various countries, officials of Bangladesh Embassy and representatives of Bangladesh community in Kuwait were present at the event.
At the beginning, Commander BMC, Brigadier General. Tajul Islam Thakur, BSP, SGP, NDC, AFWC, PSC, G, MPhil gave his welcome speech highlighting the importance of the day and emphasizing the glorious history of friendship between Bangladesh-Kuwait armed forces.
Later, a video clip on Bangladesh Armed Forces and Bangladesh Military Contingents in Kuwait was also shown and BMC Magazine-2023 was unveiled.
