A section of excited Bangladesh after Team India’s defeat in the World Cup. That video is now viral on social media. Former BJP state president and researcher Tathagata Roy opened up about it. He said, ‘Bangladesh is ungrateful. They take all benefits from India. And India’s loss is exhilarating. This is because of Hindu opposition.’
In the words of Tathagata Ray, ‘This exuberance of Bangladesh proves that the religion which is in majority there cannot tolerate other religions. hates Hindu opposition is being cultivated in Madrasahs of Bangladesh. But if Bangladesh is in danger, it will reach out to India. People from that country, when they are unemployed, come here, depend on India for medical treatment.’
Reminding India’s contribution in Bangladesh’s liberation war, Tathagata said, ‘Bangladesh won with the help of India in the liberation war. Those who were in the Mukti Bahini fought against Pakistan with sticks. India could not stand next to win? India could have easily annexed Bangladesh at that time. But India knew that fanatics would fight back. It will hurt. That is what happened after 1975. The kingdom of fanatics has been established in Bangladesh. The exuberance of the Bangladeshi people after losing to India is an example of that.’
But why is this part of Bangladesh opposed to India? Tathagata Roy, the former governor of the three states, said, ‘This is because there is inferiority among many people in Bangladesh. Even today, many people could not accept that they won the liberation war with the help of India. So anti-India practices are still there.’
A diplomat of Bangladesh also once told him that anti-Hindu practices are increasing in that country. That is what Tathagata Roy claims. In his words, ‘A liberal-minded diplomat from Bangladesh told me that anti-Hindu practices are increasing in that country. I informed the Government of India about that. I also informed Sushma Swaraj. Jaishankar wanted to tell. But I didn’t get a chance.’
Incidentally, a giant screen was installed in the student-teacher center of Dhaka University to watch the India-Australia match. Thousands of students gathered there. They expressed joy at India’s loss. Even those students of Bangladesh can be seen dancing. One said, ‘It’s enough that India lost. That’s what we wanted. We cannot tolerate India.’ Another said, ‘Australian players are hitting fours and I feel like Shakib, Shantara are hitting fours. My soul is dying.’
