A Chhatra League worker named Arif Mia (19) was hacked to death due to an internal conflict in Tilagarh of Sylhet Nagar by activists of another group.

The incident took place in front of the Shahi Eidgah TV gate of the city on Monday around 12:15 pm.

Son of Phatik Mia of Shahi Eidgah TV Gate area of ​​Arif Nagar. He was an active worker of the district Awami League’s organizing secretary advocate Ranjit Sarkar’s group, police said.

The assailants left Arif on the road after slashing and stabbing him with sharp weapons. They inflicted 12 injuries with sharp weapons on his left arm, left thigh, leg and other parts of his body.

Later the locals rescued him and took him to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where the doctor declared him dead. Hospital doctors said that he died of excessive bleeding.

Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital police camp member Balram said the body has been kept in the morgue for autopsy.

SMP’s Shahparan Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abul Khair did not receive a call to inquire about this.
