Three people from the same family were injured in a cocktail explosion on the street in front of Wari police station in the capital. The injured are Maqsuda Akhtar (55), her husband Abul Bashar (65) and their son Mahbub (20).
The incident happened on Sunday night. The injured husband and wife came to Dhaka Medical College at 11 pm through the local hospital.
Maqsuda Basa works at home, her husband used to sell fruits on the old pavement, son works in various grocery stores supplying food items. They live in Gandaria Dhupkhola area.
Abul Bashar said that they got the news that their son was taken to the police station, they went in front of the police station after hearing the news. They talked to the police there. While returning with his son, there was a sudden explosion on the side of the road. Wash all around. After some time we see that we are injured.
It is believed that the injuries were caused by cocktail bombs thrown by unidentified miscreants.
Inspector in charge of DMK Hospital Police Fadi Md. Bachchu Mia confirmed the truth. He said, the injured have been treated at DMK Hospital. But they are not serious.
