Actor Siddiqur Rahman has picked the nomination form of Awami League to be a candidate for Dhaka-17 (Gulshan Banani and Cantonment, Vasantek area) and Tangail-1 (Madhupur and Dhanbari) constituencies.

He went to the central office of the party located at Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Monday (November 20) afternoon to collect the nomination form.

Small screen actor Siddiqur Rahman asked for prayers from the countrymen after collecting the nomination form. He said, pray for me. I want to be a candidate of Awami League in the election. May Allah fulfill my dream of entering politics. I want to work for people.

Siddiqu also expressed hope that he wants to be a candidate for boat from the seat for which Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina deems him eligible.

Siddique bought the nomination form to be the Awami League candidate in the Dhaka-17 seat by-election held on July 17. Late Nayak Farooq was the Member of Parliament of that constituency. Siddique did not get nominated for service.

Earlier, Siddique was a candidate for Awami League’s nomination for Tangail-1 seat in the 2018 national parliament election. Awami League nominated the current Minister of Agriculture from that seat. Md. Abdur Razzak.
