The 12th National Assembly election is knocking at the door. Ahead of the election, the ruling Awami League is starting to sell nomination papers. Meanwhile, the present member of parliament of Narail-2 (Lohagra-Narail) constituency Mashrafe Bin Murtaza has collected the nomination papers of Awami League for the upcoming 12th national election. However, two other Awami League leaders have submitted nomination papers for the same seat.

The two who have submitted nomination papers for Mashrafe’s electoral seat are – District Awami League Vice President SM Asifur Rahman Bappi and Narail District Awami League Science and Technology Secretary Buet Engineer Lt. Commander (Retd.) AM Abdullah.

Among them, Bappi was nominated in 2014. But later the seat was ceded to the Workers Party. This time both of them are hopeful about getting nomination from Awami League. However, they said that they will work for whoever the party nominates.

Earlier in the 12th National Parliament election, Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, the former ODI captain of the national cricket team, collected the party nomination papers of Awami League from Narail-2 constituency. Narail district Awami League president Subas Chandra Bose collected the form on his behalf from the party’s central office at Bangabandhu Avenue on Monday morning.
