The 10-day training workshop for newly appointed teachers of Port City International University started from last November 19, at the University Auditorium. A total of 14 newly appointed teachers in various departments including Business Administration, Fashion Design and Technology, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, English, Textile Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering and Natural Science are participating in this workshop. The Faculty Training and Development Program was inaugurated by the VC Professor Dr. Md: Nooral Anwar. He said, ‘The teaching profession should have a mentality of giving up. Students should be developed with academic knowledge as well as moral values’. In his speech, he gave the most importance to the rules and regulations of the university. Not only the teachers but also the students should be observed to follow the rules. The workshop was also addressed by the treasurer of the university, Professor Dr. Ganesh Chandra Roy and Registrar Md. Obaidur Rahman. They said, “There is no substitute for teacher training for high quality education. He mentioned that this training workshop is beneficial for new teachers in terms of lesson planning and advised teachers to take advance preparation. Md. Mahfuzur Rahman, Assistant Professor of Business Administration Department and Coordinator of Center for Training, Development, Career Counseling and Placement is the coordinator of that workshop.
