Alvee’s mother, Rehena Akhtar, filed the complaint, saying her son was sitting on the west side of Suhrawardy Udyan on November 8, talking to a girlfriend. At that time, Tabarak, Mursalin, Shakib, Zubair, Humayun and others harassed and threatened them in various ways. When Alvi protested, he was taken to a secluded place in the garden and tortured. He was beaten with rods, sticks and wood. Tabarak beat Alvi with a rod and made him bleed. Mursalin hit him with a stick and broke Alveer’s right elbow bone.
Zubair kicked Alveer’s chest and back. Some people including Shakib burnt Alvi’s body with cigarette fire. Apart from this, Alvi was punched in the face, head, lips and eyes. Tabarak took 2 thousand 500 taka from Alvi’s pocket. Mursalin took away a mobile phone worth 25 thousand taka from Alvi and broke it. The accused burnt important documents including Alveer’s driving license. Alvi was seriously injured and admitted to a private hospital in Dhanmondi.
