Residents of Mymensingh held a human chain program to demand justice for those involved in the murder of a young man named Abdur Razzaq Rakib (24) over a trivial matter. At that time, the perpetrators of the murder demanded severe punishment for those involved, including the drug dealer and terrorist Shaon.
On Tuesday (November 14) at noon, hundreds of local people including local Awami League leaders participated in this human chain in China Mor area of the city.
Speakers in the human chain said that three days have passed since Rakib’s murder, but the accused have not been caught yet. Although the accused were identified in the CCTV footage immediately after the incident, the police could not arrest them due to mysterious reasons. In this situation, if the accused are not arrested within the next 24 hours, the local residents will be forced to go on a strict agitation. All types of traffic in Mymensingh will be stopped.

Incidentally, on the way back from taking part in Jubo League’s founding anniversary program in Tarakanda and Phulpur upazilas of the district last Saturday along with State Minister for Housing and Public Works Sharif Ahmed, a dispute arose between Jubo League’s expelled leader Shaon and his henchmen in a trivial incident at China Mor area of Mymensingh city. At that time, a young man named Rakib was killed by the stabbing of Shaon and his horsemen. Several other transport workers were injured.
The day after the incident, Hasi Begum, the victim’s mother, named 16 people, including Shaon, an expelled member of the Mahanagar Jubo League, and filed a single murder case with the police station accusing 10 to 12 unknown people.
