Two cousins riding a motorcycle were killed and one of their friends was injured after being hit by a bus in Bogra’s Dupchanchia.
The accident took place on Monday night in Chaumuhani Lalbridge area of Bogra-Naogaon road of the upazila. The police intercepted the bus but the driver and helper escaped.
In this regard, Rakib Hossain, the brother of the deceased, filed a case against the unidentified bus driver and helper at Dupchanchia police station on Tuesday.

The deceased were Shakil Hossain (22), son of Hossain Ali of Dariyapur village of Adamdighi Upazila of Bogra and his cousin Sajib Hossain (22), son of Sirajul Islam of the same village. Shakeel was a first year student of Higher Secondary School, Raninagar, Sherbangla University, Naogaon and Sajib Hossain was a first year student of Naogaon Degree College.
Their friend Mahabub Rahman (22), son of Helal Hossain of Prananathpur village of the same upazila, was injured.
Police and Ezahar sources said that around 3 pm on Monday, Shakeel Hossain, Sajib Hossain and Mahabub Rahman went to Bogra town on a motorcycle. After work, they left for home by motorcycle around 9 pm. At around 10:15 PM, when it reached the Bogra-Naogaon road near Chaumuhani Lal Bridge of Dupchanchia Upazila of Bogra, the bus of Shyamoli Paribahan, which was leaving Naogaon, hit the motorcycle.
As a result, the motorcycle overturned and three people fell on the road. The driver and helper left the bus at Chaumuhani Bazar and ran away. Locals rescued three injured people and took them to the nearby Adamdighi Upazila Health Complex. Doctors there declared Shakeel Hossain and Sajib Hossain dead. Friend Mahabub Rahman is under treatment.
Rakib Hossain, the elder brother of the deceased Shakil, filed a case against the unknown driver and helper of Shyamoli Transport at Dupchanchia police station on Tuesday on the charge of murdering him by driving the bus recklessly and at high speed and intentionally hitting him with a motorcycle.
Dupchanchia police station OC Sanatan Chandra Sarkar said that a case has been filed; The bus is in their custody. The accused will be identified and arrested. The bodies of both have been handed over to their families.
