Allegations of cocktail explosions have been received from Jamaat-Shibir processions in Rajshahi. Police arrested six people in this incident.

They were arrested while marching and picketing in support of the siege in Cityhat area of ​​Rajshahi city around 7:30 am on Sunday.

The arrested are – Abdul Awal of Char Mazhardiad area of ​​Damkura police station, Pesh Imam of Bakhtiarabad Jame Masjid and Abu Bakkar Siddique of Kaligar area, Md. of Bakhtiarabad area. Arif Chowdhury, Anan Hossain of Dharmahata area of ​​Paba Upazila, Robin Islam of Mathurdanga area and Abdul Alim of Bakhtiarabad area.

However, Sarwar Jahan Prince, Publicity Secretary of Rajshahi Mahanagari Jamaat, denied the arrest of activists. He claimed that there was no predetermined program in that area.

However, the city’s Rajpara police station said. Rafiqul Haque said that leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Islami Chhatrashibir have marched near Cityhat area. They also made a cocktail explosion there. Later, six people were arrested from the spot. An exploded cocktail shell was also recovered. A case has been filed against the detained persons.

Meanwhile, a peace rally was held in Rajshahi metropolis under the leadership of the general secretary of Awami League D. B. Sarkar. Leaders and activists were present in this rally held in front of Kumarpara metropolis Awami League office.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) spokesperson Jamirul Islam said that no untoward incident took place. Law enforcement personnel are on alert to keep the situation normal.

On the first day of the blockade called by BNP in the fourth phase, inter-district route buses operated from Rajshahi on Sunday. Passengers were less than usual.
