73 forms submitted against 26 posts

The weather in Chittagong’s sports grounds is very hot now. Election of Chittagong District Sports Association will be held on November 25. Already 73 forms have been submitted for 26 posts and all of them have been validated. Due to which, who is contesting for which position will be known on November 15, the last day of withdrawal of candidature. Also, the councilors are waiting for which posts will be won unopposed and which posts will be voted. Sports officials said that the main election mood will begin on that day.
Election Commissioner of CJKS Election Management Committee and Additional District Magistrate Tanveer Al Nasif said that 73 nomination forms have been submitted against 26 posts. All forms submitted are valid, no form has been canceled for any post.
It is known that AJM Nashir Uddin, the former city mayor and general secretary of the city Awami League, has served three consecutive terms as the general secretary of Chittagong District Sports Association CJKS. He has also submitted the nomination form in this election. This time young Jafir Yachin Chowdhury has submitted the form to compete with him. Although he is not that familiar face to the councillors. Still, whether he is finally contesting with AJM Nashir or not will have to wait till the day of withdrawal of candidature.
In addition, four-time treasurer of CJKS, Shahabuddin Md. Executive member ANM Wahid Dulal will compete with Jahangir. 11 candidates for four posts of vice president. They are Taher Ul Alam Chowdhury Swapan, Shaheen Aftabur Reza, SM Shahidul Islam, Ehchanul Haider Chowdhury Babul, Syed Abul Bashar, Maksudur Rahman Bulbul, Shahzada Alam, Abul Hasem, Mofizur Rahman, Hafizur Rahman and Didarul Alam Chowdhury.
There are 5 candidates for one post of Additional General Secretary. They are SM Shahidul Islam, Mohammad Aminul Islam, Mashiur Rahman Chowdhury, Nishar Uddin Ahmed Manju and Syed Shahabuddin Shamim. 10 candidates for 2 posts of Joint Secretary. They are ASM Iqbal Morshed, Mohammad Aminul Islam, Ahid Siraj Chowdhury Swapan, Moshiur Rahman Chowdhury, Sarwar Alam Chowdhury Moni, Md. Shahjahan, Nishar Uddin Ahmed Manju, A.N.M. Wahid Dulal, Hasan Murad Biplab and Mohammad Yusuf.
There are 38 candidates for 13 posts of executive members. 3 candidates for 2 positions of reserved upazila sports association. Zafar Iqbal, Md. Zahidul Islam and Pradeep Kumar Bhattacharya. Many of them have submitted forms for more than one, two or even three posts. They will have to wait two more days to decide which one to keep and which one to leave.
