The second session of Bangladesh C-Suits Awards was held on November 11 at the Radisson Blue Water Garden Hotel in the capital by awarding 28 top officials in the business sector of Bangladesh.
Produced by the American International University of Bangladesh, hosted by Summit Communications Limited, in collaboration with BSRM and The Daily Star and organized by Aspire to Innovate (A2I), Smart Bangladesh Network and Namcon Consultancy Limited, the event is an annual initiative of the Bangladesh Brand Forum where the country’s top business executives Awarded for outstanding achievement in roles. Around 350 business personalities attended this year’s lavish gala event.
This year Bangladesh C-Suits Awards received more than 100 nominations from 35 organizations in 22 categories. These categories have been created with a view to better aligning C Suits management positions. Category wise winners are selected through due diligence by a jury session comprising of the country’s top category experts. Also, 3 more categories were awarded by Bangladesh Brand Forum. Also, the second issue of Bangladesh Brand Forum’s bi-monthly magazine ‘CEO Review’ was released at this event.
Shariful Islam, founder and managing director of Bangladesh Brand Forum, in his welcome speech at the gala event said, “This award serves as an inspiration for the development of top leadership in the business sector of Bangladesh. We started this initiative with two goals. Firstly, to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of the country’s top officials and secondly to present their success stories to the new generation.”
Bangladesh Brand Forum organized the 7th Leadership Summit ahead of the 2nd Bangladesh C-Suits Awards. Produced by the American International University of Bangladesh, hosted by Summit Communications Limited and Sheltech, in collaboration with BSRM, Team Group and The Daily Star and organized by Aspire to Innovate (A2I), Smart Bangladesh Network and Namcon Consultancy Limited, this year’s session was themed, “Navigating the Next Frontier: Transforming Organizations for the Future”
The day-long session was attended by eminent businessmen, academicians, researchers and other important people from different fields of the country and abroad. Organized into 3 keynote sessions, 5 panel discussions and 1 insight session, this year’s Leadership Summit discussed the complexities of contemporary leadership, challenges and solutions, sustainable growth, corporate governance and corporate culture.
Shariful Islam, founder and managing director of Bangladesh Brand Forum, said in the welcome speech of the summit, “The goals and objectives of our organizations are determined by our leaders or top officials. So we have to think about how we can organize our organizations effectively keeping in mind the coming future. I believe that each of today’s discussions will contribute equally to our formulation of a policy on this matter.”
Bangladesh C-Suits Awards 2023 were presented to two top executives of the management committee of Unilever Bangladesh Limited (UBL). Shamima Akhtar, Director Corporate Affairs, Partnerships and Communications, UBL received the award in the ‘Chief Corporate Affairs Officer/CA Director of the Year’ category and UBL’s Supply Chain Director received the award in the ‘Chief Supply Chain Officer/Supply Chain Director of the Year’ category. The first keynote session speaker of the summit was Dr. Tulsi Jayakumar, Professor, Economics and Executive Director, Center for Family Business and Entrepreneurship, SP Jain Institute of Management and Research. Later in the other two keynote sessions Suhail Al Kharsah, Enterprise Agile Coach, Central Transformation Office, Pharma International and Yasir Azman, Chief Executive Officer, Grameenphone Limited discussed ways to create an effective culture for organizational innovation growth and sustainable practices respectively. Also, the only insight session of the summit was conducted by Erkument Polat, Chief Executive Officer, United iGas LPG Limited.
In addition, in 5 panel discussions, the speakers discussed and exchanged views on several relevant issues including the role of smart leadership in nation building, creative leadership.
