Bangladesh cricket team went to play in India World Cup with the dream of playing in the semi-finals. But the wounded Tigers left from the league stage after losing consecutively. The world cricket governing body ICC announced a financial prize of one million USD in this World Cup. The last match of the World Cup round robin league which started on October 5 is going on today. That is, the World Cup is almost at the end. On November 19, the curtain will come down on the World Cup with the title deciding match at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The champion team of the tournament will get 4 million US Dollars (about 44 crores in Bangladeshi currency) as prize money. And those who lose in the final, will pocket half of the champion team’s money. That is, the runner-up team will get 2 million US dollars (which is about 22 crores in Bangladeshi currency).

However, even if the final or semi-final is not played, the ICC will give a certain amount of financial reward to each participating team. The two teams eliminated from the semi-finals will receive 8 million dollars each. In Bangladeshi currency that is 8 crore 78 lakh taka.

Apart from this, there is a large amount of prize money for the teams eliminated from the first round. Each of the six eliminated teams will receive $100,000. 1 crore 10 lakhs in Bangladeshi currency. Besides, the 45 matches in the group stage, the winning teams will get 43 lakh 89 thousand taka.

In the first phase of the current World Cup, Bangladesh managed to defeat only Afghanistan and Sri Lanka by playing 9 matches. Due to these two victories, Shakib’s team will get a total of 88 lakh taka (80 thousand dollars) of about 44 lakh taka. And Bangladesh will get more than 1 crore 10 lakh taka ($1 lakh) to play in the first round. The total income of Tiger Army is about 2 crores.

10 teams have participated in this tournament of world cricket excellence. A total of 48 matches are being played at 10 venues in India. The 45th match is going on today. According to the playing conditions, the first and fourth teams in the table will meet in the first semi-final. As a result, India and New Zealand will play in the first semi-final of the World Cup on November 15 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. They played against each other in the semi-finals last season as well. New Zealand reached the final by defeating India by 18 runs. In another semi-final next day (November 16) Australia-South Africa will meet in Kolkata. The last time these two teams met in the semi-finals of the World Cup was in the 2007 World Cup. Ajira played the final by defeating Seva’s Proteas by 7 wickets.

Both semi-finals of the World Cup will be held in day-night schedule. The matches will start at 2:30 pm Bangladesh time. Even though there is no reserve-day in any of the league stage matches, this facility is kept for the semi-finals.
