Bhabhi Marina (34), a victim of acid attack by Dewar due to family dispute in Kishoreganj of Nilphamari, is writhing in pain in the hospital bed.
On Sunday (November 12) at noon, the victim Marina Debar made a written complaint to the police station in the name of Abdul Wadud. Earlier this incident happened on Saturday around 2 pm.
That Bhabhi (housewife) is the wife of Majedul Islam alias Abdul Majedar of Kamar Para village of Kishoreganj Sadar Union.
According to complaints and local sources, there was a long family quarrel with the wife of Majidul Islam, the son of Abdul Aziz of Kamar Para village, Marina Begum. Because of this, Majdul’s younger brother Abdul Wadud threw acid over the tin fence on Saturday afternoon. At that time, Marina was returning home after drinking at the shop next to the house. As the acid was thrown, Marina was burnt and writhing on the ground. Locals quickly rescued him and admitted him to a local hospital. One of Marina’s eyes, right hand and forearm were burnt by acid.
Kishoreganj Hospital Assistant Surgeon Dr. Taslima Siddika Rekha said that she was sent to the burn unit of Rangpur Medical College Hospital due to a serious problem in one of her eyes caused by acid.
Palash Chandra Mondal, officer in charge (OC) of Kishoreganj police station admitted to receiving the complaint and said that the investigation is underway.
