RAB-12 has arrested Saiful Islam, Senior Joint General Secretary of Sirajganj District Volunteer League, who was convicted in the check forgery case. He was arrested from his home in Dhanbandhi Mahalla of the district town on Sunday (November 12) afternoon.
The arrested Saiful Islam is the son of Altaf Hossain of Dhanbandhi Mohalla.
RAB-12 Company Commander Mohammad Elias said that Solaiman Hossain of Bantiar village of Sonatani Union of Shahjadpur district filed a check fraud case of Tk 4 lakh 16 thousand 700 in Upazila Administrative Court on 24 December 2020. In this case, the joint judge of the court, Mamunur Rashid, on June 7, 2022, sentenced Saiful Islam to one year in prison and to return the money mentioned in the cheque. Then the court issued an arrest warrant for Saiful Islam. Saiful Islam was arrested today afternoon from his house based on secret information. Later he was handed over to Sadar police station.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sirajganj Sadar Police Station Sirajul Islam said that RAB handed over Saiful Islam to police station. In the afternoon he was sent to jail by the court.
