Minister of Agriculture and Awami League presidium member Dr. Md. Abdur Razzak said, we want the continuation of the development of this country, we want to show the world that Bangladesh is not a nation of beggars. He said this at a public meeting organized at Musleh Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium of Narsingdi Sadar Upazila on Sunday (November 12).

Agriculture Minister said, today the country is going towards an election. An undemocratic political party formed in the cantonment, formed by the anti-freedom evil force Khuni Zia, has repeatedly threatened to sabotage and vandalize that election.

The Agriculture Minister also said that BNP came to power in 2001 and misruled them. Bangladesh’s democracy was in danger. We could not hold public meetings anywhere. I could not even march anywhere. Not only Awami League leaders and activists, but minorities, Hindus and Buddhists looted and killed hundreds of minorities and they killed 26 thousand Awami League leaders and activists.’

Abdur Razzak said, I would like to stand in today’s meeting and say that democracy was weak in this BNP misrule, the economy of Bangladesh was in great crisis, the whole nation was terrified due to fundamentalism-militancy and persecution of religious terrorists and Chhatra Dal-reshuffle.

Agriculture Minister Abdur Razzak said, I know after the election of the caretaker in 2008, you know that history. In the 2008 elections we promised the nation, the manifesto of the Hon’ble Prime Minister spoke about the change of the day – we will make Bangladesh self-sufficient in food. The leader said, I will give electricity from house to house. I will pave the village roads. I will make Bangladesh digital. In the last 15 years, Bangladesh is not only digital, but today we are saying that we will make Bangladesh a smart Bangladesh. We have made Bangladesh self-sufficient in food. We used to travel around the world with bags of food, the whole world knew—Bangladesh was a land of famine. A nation of food shortages, a nation of beggars. In just five years between 2009 and 2015, we made Bangladesh self-sufficient in food.

Razzak said, ‘Padma Bridge, ICT Computer, Education, Health, Four Lane and all other fields have seen unprecedented development, which is appreciated and praised all over the world.’ He also said, ‘We want the continuation of the development of this country, we want to show the world – Bangladesh is not a nation of beggars.’
