On the first day of the fourth phase of the blockade called by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, the Dhaka Metropolitan South and North branches of the organization marched and picketed at 12 spots.

Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Central Majlis Member and Dhaka Metropolitan South Vice Amir Advocate Dr. Leaders and activists of the party marched in Segunbagicha of the capital under the leadership of Helal Uddin. Apart from this, Jamaat-e-Islami Dhaka Metropolitan South marched and picketed at Nazim Uddin Road, Chankharpul, Banglamotor, Demra Highway, Jatrabari, Mugda Kamalapur Bishwaroad area.

On the other hand, Jamaat’s Central Majlis Shura member Muhammad Jamal Uddin led a march in the capital’s airport area. Apart from this, processions and picketing are said to be held in Uttara, Pallabi, Hatirjheel, Badda, Mohammadpur areas.

Top leaders of the opposition parties in jail will not be given a chance to declare details for the farcical elections. This government has not realized yet. He said, our blockade against vote thieves is ongoing and will continue. The movement will continue until people’s right to vote and rice is realized. He demanded immediate elections under a caretaker government.

Meanwhile, in the post-march rally, Jamaat’s Central Majlis Shura member Muhammad Jamal Uddin said that the mafia government is dreaming of usurping the state power by conducting unilateral elections in the country through Sebadas and Bashangbad Election Commission. But the brave masses spontaneously took to the streets to counter the conspiracy. This blockade of the masses will continue until the fall of the government.

He called upon the government to show goodwill and stop the election conspiracies of pranks and charades. Otherwise, the people announced that they will stop the conspiracy to declare unilateral schedule even if they give their lives.

Jamal Uddin said that the government has systematically destroyed the country’s democracy and democratic values. All democratic institutions of the country have been destroyed. The electoral caretaker government system, a safeguard of free democracy, has been struck down by the courts. The constitutional institution Election Commission has been turned into a ‘Daldas’ Commission. A frightening situation has been created in the country by partying all the state institutions including the judiciary, public administration and law enforcement. As a result, the country has become a dictatorial and fascist state. People are being deprived of their constitutional and democratic rights. Therefore, there is no alternative to the downfall of this tyrannical and undemocratic government in the larger interest of the country and nation.
