Police took the burnt bus to the airport police station after putting it on racks in front of Barisal Kashipur Infra Polytechnic Institute.
Miscreants set fire to a bus stopped on the side of the Barisal-Dhaka highway during the blockade called by BNP-Jamaat.
The incident took place near the Indian Visa Center in the Kashipur area of the highway around 3:30 am on Sunday morning.

Three fire service units brought the fire under control in 20 minutes. The fire service and civil defense officials believe that the fire caused a loss of two lakh rupees.
Inspector (Investigation) Lokman Hossain of Metropolitan Police Airport Police Station told bdnews24.com that unknown miscreants came and set fire to the bus. On receiving the information, police and fire service members quickly came and brought the fire under control.
He said that legal action will be taken in this incident.
Meanwhile, Zahidur Rahman Ripon, who is in charge of the Metropolitan BNP office, said that in support of the blockade, a procession was held in the city’s C&B Road under the leadership of Afroza Khanam Nasrin, a member of the Metropolitan BNP. At that time, there was a protest by burning tires on the road.
Also, in front of Sagardi Aliya Madrasa in the city at night, leaders and workers of Ward No. 24 BNP took out a torch procession.
However, the effect of the blockade was not seen in Barisal city after visiting various roads. The movement of various vehicles on the road has also been seen as normal.
