Four more people died of dengue fever in Barisal division in 24 hours. A total of 161 people have died in this department.
Apart from this, 187 new patients have been admitted to the government hospital for treatment in 24 hours, said the Divisional Health Director Shyamal Krishna Mandal.
The four who died while undergoing treatment at Barisal Sher-e Bangla Medical College Hospital are Fatema Begum (48) resident of Sarikal area of Gournadi upazila of Barisal, Zafar (27) resident of Kathalia upazila of Jhalkathi, Abdur Rashid (80) of Kalar Doania area of Nazirpur upazila of Pirojpur and Dasmina of Patuakhali. Sadia (13) of Upazila.
According to the information of the Divisional Health Department, currently 622 patients are under treatment in two Medical College Hospitals and 6 District Headquarters Upazila Health Complex of Barisal Division.
Among them, 126 people are under treatment in Barisal Sher-e Bangla Medical College Hospital, 61 people in Patuakhali Medical College Hospital, 137 people in other hospitals of Barisal district, 37 people in Patuakhali, 35 people in Bhola, 135 in Pirojpur, 76 in Barguna and 15 in Jhalkathi.
Since January 1, 34 thousand 573 dengue patients have been admitted in the hospitals of Barisal division. And 33 thousand 790 people have recovered.
At the same time, a maximum of 122 people died while undergoing treatment in Barisal Sher-e Bangla Medical College Hospital, six in Patuakhali Medical College Hospital, three in other hospitals of Barisal district, two in Patuakhali, 10 in Bhola, 12 in Pirojpur, five in Barguna and one in Jhalkathi Hospital.
