A protest march was held on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway in Bogra on the first day of the third phase of the 48-hour blockade called by BNP-Jamaat. On Wednesday (November 8) morning, BNP leaders and activists held this program in the second bypass Suzabad area of the upazila. At around 8:30 a.m. on this day, the Jamaat-supported blockaders came to march in the sub-gram area of the second bypass highway, and the police dispersed them.
Eyewitnesses said that in support of the blockade, district BNP General Secretary Ali Azgar Talukdar took a position at Suzabad area of the second bypass of Dhaka Rangpur highway around 8 am. At that time, they shouted anti-voting and anti-government slogans. Later, in Sujabad, they held a protest march in about 300 meters of the road.
Meanwhile, members of law and order forces have taken a position at the Banani intersection of the Dhaka-Rangpur highway to protect the lives and property of the besieged people.
Around 8:30 AM, the besiegers took up position in Subgram-Baria area of the second bypass. At that time, when they started marching on the road, the police fired four blank rounds from the shotgun.
Naruli outpost inspector Tariqul Islam said blank shots were fired to disperse the besiegers. Now the situation is normal. Police are active in public safety.
District Additional Superintendent of Police (newly promoted Superintendent of Police) Snigdh Akhtar said that law and order forces are working in the field to protect the life and property of common people during the siege.
