Dhaka: The Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested 1,636 people in the capital in the last 10 days on charges of violence on October 28 and the deterioration of the law and order situation on Tuesday (October 31).
On Monday (November 6), 82 people were arrested from various places in the capital.
On Tuesday (November 7), Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) of Media and Public Relations Department of DMP. Farooq Hossain confirmed the matter.
He said that on 28 October 696 people, 29 October 256 people, 30 October 158 people, 31 October 141 people, 1 November 96 people, 2 November 60 people, 3 November 58 people, 4 November 37 people, 5 November 52 people and lastly 6 November 82 people Arrested.
Meanwhile, a total of 112 cases have been registered in eight divisions of the DMP so far in connection with the violence on and after October 28. Among them, 13 cases have been filed in various police stations of Ramna division, seven in Lalbagh, 35 in Motijheel, 16 in Wari, six in Tejgaon, 20 in Mirpur, 11 in Gulshan and four in Uttara.
