Open Access Week is celebrated in collaboration with BRAC University’s Ayesha Abed Library and Open Society Network (OSUN).
A press release informed that the event was celebrated from October 27 to November 4 to spread awareness about open access facilities in research papers.
According to BRAC University, Ayesha Abed Library organized a webinar titled ‘Exploring the Impact of Open Access Publishing on Research Disability and Scholarly Communication’ as part of the event. ‘Open Access Publication Award’ given to BRAC University faculty-students.
The awardees are BRAC James P Grant School of Public Health Professor Kawsar Afsana, Department of English and Humanities student Halima Hasin, BRAC Business School student Liaquat Ali Khan, BRAC Business School student Nabiha Azad Noor.
Professor Syed Mahfuzul Aziz, Acting Vice-Chancellor of BRAC University said, “Universities have found new opportunities to explore the world through open source applications. They are available for free, these applications are powerful and they can be modified at will.”
