China has become an important partner of Bangladesh: Ambassador Yao Wen

Apart from economic development, China has become an important partner of Bangladesh in other fields. Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Yao Wen said these things at the handing over of dengue test kits by the Chinese government at the Ministry of Health on Tuesday. Health Minister Zahid Malek was the chief guest on the occasion.

The Chinese ambassador said that Bangladesh has the highest number of dengue cases this year. More than 1,400 people lost their lives. The situation is still challenging. The Chinese government and people are deeply affected by the suffering of the Bangladeshi people.

He also said that Chinese President Xi Jinping personally announced during his meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Johannesburg, South Africa at the end of August this year, that China will provide 25 million RMB in anti-dengue aid to Bangladesh. Since then, the relevant authorities of the two governments have maintained contact and cooperated in securing emergency supplies of anti-dengue from China.

Referring to Bangladesh as a true friend of China, the ambassador said that the strategic partnership of cooperation between Bangladesh and China has deepened in recent years. The longstanding friendship between the peoples of our two countries has been and continues to be consolidated through increasingly regular exchanges at all levels.
