Chittagong: Chittagong Metropolitan BNP has demanded the arrest of 250 BNP leaders and activists in the city in 10 days on the complaint of deteriorating law and order situation since October 28. At this time, 13 cases have been filed against BNP activists in 10 police stations of the city.

It has been claimed that 15 BNP leaders and workers have been arrested from various places from Monday (November 6) evening to Tuesday (November 7) evening.

The matter was confirmed to BanglaNews by former Deputy Secretary of Chittagong Metropolitan BNP and currently coordinator of the office. Idris Ali.

In the last 24 hours, 15 leaders and activists of BNP and allied organizations were arrested in Chittagong. Siraj Pasha, Chittagong Metropolitan Volunteers Party Family Welfare Secretary Zakir Hossain Mishu, BNP leader Md. Yusuf, member of convening committee of Panchlaish Thana Jubo Dal Mejbah Uddin Ujjal, convenor of West Sholashar Ward No. 7 Youth Dal, Mohammad Javed Hossain, joint convener of Sadarghat Police Station Volunteer Dal Al Amin, Chandgao Jubo Dal leader Jamal Uddin, Ward No. 43 Jubo Dal leader Mohammad Raju, Buxir Hat Jubo Dal leader Md. Saiful and Md. Abu Chayed and South Agrabad Ward Youth Dal leader Samsuddin Shamsu.

Out of 13 cases, 1 in Chandgaon Police Station, 1 in Panchlaish Police Station, 3 in Bayezid Police Station, 2 in Akbar Shah Police Station, 1 in Khulshi Police Station, 1 in Pahartali Police Station, 1 in EPZ Police Station, 1 in Kotwali Police Station, 1 in Halishahar Police Station and 1 in Patenga Police Station.

Md. Idris Ali said that the government has started mass arrests in Chittagong after being afraid of the BNP’s one-phase movement demanding the resignation of the government. No one is being spared from the grassroots to the national level. Awami League is putting the blame on BNP by doing various kinds of sabotage. So all the leaders and activists should be careful in the blockade program of BNP.

He said that 250 BNP leaders and activists were arrested in Chittagong city in 10 days from October 28.

13 cases have been registered against BNP activists in 10 police stations.
