The police arrested 14 leaders and activists of the student camp from Kapotaksh hostel in Pabla area of Daulatpur, Khulna.
On Tuesday, 14 people were arrested and Ramada, Jihadi books, sticks, wooden sticks, 2 liters of petrol, 14 pans were recovered.
The arrested are the senior vice-president of BL college student camp. Taiyab Hasan Taiybur Rahman (26), BL College student camp vice president. Mintu Sheikh (22), BL College Student Camp Joint General Secretary Jobair Hossain (19), BL College Student Camp General Secretary Md. Amirul Islam (26), Secretary of BL College Student Camp. Yasin Arfat (23), publicity secretary of BL College student camp. Abdullah Bukhari (21), BL College student camp member Jahangir Alam (21), BL College student camp member Abdullah Al Mamun (22), Mangrove Imperial Engineering College student camp president Md. Fahim Morshed (21), member of Khulna Mahanagar student camp. Rakibuzzaman (23), a member of the Khulna Metropolitan Student Camp. Mohibullah (19), a member of the Khulna Metropolitan Student Camp. Rakib Hasan (20), Khulna Mahanagar Student Camp member Mahi Chowdhury (23), Khulna Mahanagar Student Camp member Salim Hossain (23).
Also at this time the president of Daulatpur thana Jamaat Islami Syed Golam Kibria (55), vice president of Daulatpur thana Jamaat Islami Azizur Rahman Swapan (53) and vice president of Daulatpur thana Jamaat Islami Md. 50 to 60 people including Ashraf Sheikh (58) escaped.
Interrogation of the arrested revealed that they were planning to sabotage 50-60 people sitting there.
Kazi Kamal Hossain, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur police station, said that Daulatpur police station conducted raids at Kapotaksh dormitory owned by former Chhatra Shibir leader Faridur Rahman Nilu and arrested 14 people. They were planning sabotage.
The accused were sent to jail after filing a case on Tuesday afternoon.
