The High Court has handed over four hotel owners and a manager to the police in a case filed under the Prevention of Human Trafficking Act on charges of forced prostitution in Rajshahi Boalia police station area.
The accused are – Manager of Padma Residential Hotel in Rajshahi, Md. Chapainawabganj. Ritu (45), a hotel owner of Hetemkhan village in Rajshahi’s Boalia. Abul Kalam Azad (35), Chandrima police station. Shafiqul Islam (35), Deopara village of Bagmara police station. Afzal Hossain (41) and Nohata village of Paba police station. Israfil (45).
Justice Abu Taher on Tuesday (November 7) without bailing the accused. Saifur Rahman and Justice Md. A High Court bench comprising Bashir Ullah handed them over to the police.
During the hearing, the court said to the hotel owners that they are forcing prostitution in the hotel in the hope of earning more money illegally. Forced prostitution is a heinous crime. There is no chance of bail for these accused.
The accused were then handed over to the police in charge of the Supreme Court. Later 5 accused were handed over to Boalia police station.
The lawyer was in favor of the bail application in the court. Masood Parvez. On the other hand, Deputy Attorney General KM Masud Rumi was for the state.
Later, the lawyer said. Masud Parvez said, five people came to take bail in advance. The High Court handed them over to the police in charge of the court without granting them bail. Later they were handed over to the Boalia police through the concerned police station.
On October 17, Rajshahi Detective Police (DB) Sub-Inspector Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman. The accused have been charged under sections 7, 8, 12 and 13 of the Prevention of Human Trafficking Act. These sections describe offenses such as offering, luring and intimidating the victim to commit anti-social acts against his/her will.
It is said in the statement of the case, the main accused. Naemul Islam Naeem (19) called the previously known victim and asked him to come to Saheb Bhubanmohan Park of Boalia police station. After going to the park on the afternoon of October 16, the victim was taken to room 201 of Padma Residential Hotel in Sahebbazar Ganakapara, an area adjacent to the park. There, when Naeem wanted to have sex, the victim objected. Naeem locked the victim in that room after not agreeing to establish a relationship. At one stage of the detention, when Naeem went to the bathroom, the victim got a chance and escaped from there. Later, while returning home through Hetemkhan Mor, the victim told the DB police about the whole incident.

Mizanur Rahman Sarkar said in the preliminary information of the case, after learning the whole incident from the victim, he informed the higher authorities and went to the hotel along with the force. The main accused in the operation. Naemul Islam Naeem, staff of Padma residential hotel. Sohag (31), Md. Abul Kalam (55), Moses. Shapla (28), Moses. Anjuman (35), Mosa. Shirin Akhtar (22), Musa. Masuda Akhtar (20), Musa. Roksana (26) was arrested.
The manager of the hotel ran away. Ritu (45), the owner of the hotel. Abul Kalam Azad (35), Md. Shafiqul Islam (35), Md. Afzal Hossain (41) and Md. Israfil (45). Then they applied to the High Court seeking anticipatory bail.
